Part of the Schlosshotel teams since the winter season 2019-2020
Our Annabell is a part of our reception. In 2019 she started the winter season as a first-time receptionist. After her first winter season, she decided to study law. Annabell is supporting us on the weekends in the winter and as a full-time employee in summer.
What were your first impressions and how were you received in the team?
I started in the off-season and was able to get to know a small part of the team first. My first impressions were friendliness, respect, appreciation and team spirit within the department. At the beginning of the winter season, I was immediately warmly welcomed in the team.
How can working and studying be combined?
Due to the regular work schedule at the weekend, I can organize and plan my time very well.
The working days on the weekends go by quickly because of the number of arrivals and departures.
During the examination period it is also possible for me to have more free time, so I have enough time to study. In the summer time I enjoy most my days off in the nature and mountains.
What do you like best about working at the reception?
At the reception the guests are seeing you first and last. For me it is very important that every guest and team leader has a smile on their face and a positive memory.

Our Felix started the summer season 2021 as deputy Mâitre at the Schlosshotel Ischgl. In the winter season 2021-2022, he demonstrated his great skills as a bar manager and he has now switched now to our F&B department as a F&B Assistant. He is an indispensable part of our team and he is a great support in all areas of service and F&B.
What is your daily job as an F&B Assistant?
Together with Tobias, our F&B manager, I take care of the purchase of our drinks, coordinating all dispensing and cash register systems in the hotel and in the locations and all other daily work. The best wines, champagne, spirits and newcomers are part of my everyday work – purchasing, storage, calculation, sales, etc. For me, our main focus is on supporting all areas of the restaurant and looking after the guests.
What do you like best about the Schlosshotel Ischgl?
What I like best is that every employee can and is allowed to contribute. Since I started last summer, we have already implemented many ideas together.
We have a great team spirit. The close cooperation, for example with Daniela, an excellent Diplom- Sommelière, and the mutual exchange benefits and educates you constantly.
What excites you aside from your work here in Ischgl?
The density of high gastronomic quality. Here in Ischgl you quickly get to know a lot of people with whom you can exchange ideas. It never gets boring here!

The breakfast fairy – Zora has been an integral part of our team since 2006. Over the years, she has gotten to know all of our regular guests and knows their breakfast wishes like no other. Zora starts working at 4 a.m. every day and enjoys her well-deserved break in the afternoon and evening.
What makes the work at the Schlosshotel Ischgl special?
I love working with guests and getting to know different mentalities, characters and nationalities. We try to fulfill all wishes. I love my team and the hotel. It's like family to me.
How did you get here to Ischgl, how did you hear about the former Schlosshotel Romantica, and in which positions have you already worked in our hotel?
I heard about Ischgl from friends who were already working here. After 2 seasons in Ischgl I started working in the Schlosshotel Romantica - I've been here ever since. I started working in the housekeeping. Over the years I've done everything from washing dishes to après ski waitressing. For two winter seasons I worked full-time at the champagne club. I've been the breakfast lady here at the Schlosshotel since 2016.
What excites you aside from your work in Ischgl?
The mountains and the village. I love the snow in winter and hiking in the mountains in summer. I also know a lot of the locals now – it's always like coming home.

Nihada is our longest employee in the house. For us she is the good "soul" of the house and she has always a friendly ear for everyone. As a governess, she makes sure that all of our areas are well-maintained. She always leads her team with a lot of engagement and maximum commitment.
What do you like best about the Schlosshotel Ischgl?
I've been at the hotel for over 25 years - it's like family to me. I've known the house for so long that it's almost like my "family house". My girls and I have become such a good team and I can always count on them. It's always nice for me that so many guests come back from season after season.
What are your daily tasks?
I check all areas and all rooms daily. Everything in our chalets in Mathon is also constantly checked and cleaned. I organize my team and I create the rosters and everything else that needs to be done.
What has changed over the years?
I was already in the house when it was still a small 3-star bed and breakfast. In my time I have witnessed many changes - 3-star, 4-star, 4-star superior, then 5-star in 2017 and 5-star superior in 2018. My team has grown and, above all, the controls have become more accurate and better.

Our Jessi is already an integral part of our kitchen team and started as Commis de Cuisine in the winter season 2021-2022. She quickly integrated herself into our team and we all love her for her sense of humor and her willingness to help.
How did you come to Ischgl and why?
Our Executive Chef de Cuisine Patrick Raaß used to work in Saalbach-Hinterglemm before. I spent 2 summer seasons there as a kitchen intern. When he moved to Ischgl and I finished my school, I got the call, as promised, asking if I would also like to work with him in Ischgl. I am now Demi Chef de Partie and have been working at the Schlosshotel since November 2021.
What do you like best about working in the kitchen?
I love working on new, creative dishes. I have the opportunity to get involved in the menu planning and trying out new dishes. Mr. Raaß really teaches us something new every day and is always available to help if there are any questions.
What excites you aside from your work in Ischgl?
I have already made many friends here in Ischgl. Even if you come to Ischgl alone - the team spirit here is unmatched. Whether summer or winter, you can experience a lot here!
Part of the Champagnerhütten team since the winter season 1999-2000
Our Alf is now one of our longest employees at the Schlosshotel Ischgl and in the Champagnerhütte. He runs the Champagnerhütte and his team on the upper floor.
Alf is an established member of our team and almost part of the "inventory".
What makes the Champagnerhütte and working there so unique?
The team spirit and our guests. As a long-standing team, we have been able to attract more and more regular guests, which makes working much more fun.
What do you always tell new team members at the start of a winter season?
That if any problem arises, our staff can always come and speak with us - everything can be arranged. Of course, we also expect certain things from our employees, but fun and team spirit should not be neglected.
What excites you aside from your work in Ischgl?
Skiing - I'm passionate about being on the slopes. When the weather is good, you can find me skiing 99% of the time.
