SCHMUGGLERTOUR
Winter hiking without borders. The smugglers' tour takes you all the way to Samnaun in Switzerland. Depending on your mood, you can cover parts of the route with the cable cars and chairlifts and take hiking sections in between. The tour leads from the village center of Ischgl via the Idalp up to the Viderjoch, where you cross the border between Austria and Switzerland at 2,700 m above sea level. You reach Samnaun via the Alp Trida, where you can store duty-free and enjoy some refreshments. You should then make your way back by 2:30 p.m. at the latest in order to get back to Ischgl before the lifts close.
